Wilhelmina J. Clausen

Wilhelmina “Nina” Jamie Walsh Clausen, 56, of Wallingford, Connecticut, passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2025.

Born on January 29, 1969, Nina spent most of her life in Cheshire, CT, where she grew up and built a life full of love, laughter, and compassion. She brought warmth, humor, and fierce devotion to every role she held—as a mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Those who knew her will remember her unwavering support, her quick wit, and the way she made people feel truly seen and cared for.

Nina spent her life caring for others. Hardworking and compassionate by nature, she became certified as both a medical assistant and CNA—roles that perfectly suited her instinct to help, heal, and support those around her. She had a heart bigger than words could describe and was known for selflessly helping anyone in need, no matter the circumstance. Her love was unconditional, her spirit was kind, and her smile could light up any room.

She found joy in the little things—putting together puzzles, binge-watching SVU and Little House on the Prairie, and making silly videos with her children. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she took pride in finding the fattest, shortest tree she could to make the season bright. Her laughter was contagious, and she always saw the good in everyone she met.

Nina was the devoted mother of three daughters: Breanna Lorusso and her husband Brad, Billie Fournier and her fiancé Philip Talbot, and Haylie Asmus. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Harper Lorusso, who brought endless joy into her life.

She is survived by her beloved siblings: JoAnn Bemus, Cindy Nicholas, Clifford Northrop, Kyla Bilodeau, Yvonne Dunn, William Walsh II, and Kathleen Thomas; many nieces and nephews; her lifelong best friend, Jodi Teto; and countless friends who became family.

Nina is reunited in peace with her parents, Patricia Whitaker and William Walsh; her sister Patti Northrop; her brother James Northrop; her sister Tanya Northrop; and her brother-in-law Keith Bilodeau.

She leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be treasured forever. Among them: Breanna will never forget the Christmas when, unable to afford a tree, their mom made one out of lights on the wall—a testament to her unwavering spirit and ability to make magic out of nothing. Billie laughs remembering how their mom used to throw cold water on them to get them out of bed for school in the morning—her own unique version of tough love. And Haylie fondly remembers rainy days spent driving through puddles with the windows down, just to feel the water splash in.

Nina’s warmth, humor, and boundless love will be missed more than words can say. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Alderson Ford Funeral Home, 615 South Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410.
