Obituary

Beacon Falls – Vera Woodward, 94, of Beacon Falls, beloved wife of the late James William Woodward Jr., passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026. She was born on February 8, 1932, in Auburn, NY, to the late John and Mary (Simkulet) Komanecky.

Vera and her husband James partnered and grew a successful business. She enjoyed traveling and visited almost every country in the world, standing on the Great Wall and flying in the Concorde among many other adventures. She had a passion for painting and art, took great pride in her garden, and cherished the companionship of her beloved cats.

Vera leaves behind her son, Joseph Glenn and granddaughter, Leah E. Gray. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughters, Nancy Glenn and Gail Gray.

Services were held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial took place at Pines Bridge Cemetery, Beacon Falls. Memorial contributions may be made to Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave, Ansonia, CT 06401.
