Thomas F. Dowling

Thomas F. Dowling, 61, husband of Susan DiMaggio, died peacefully on September 17, 2026 at The Connecticut Hospice with loving family by his side.

Tom was born July 6, 1965 in Waterbury, CT a son of the late Raymond E. and Joanne M. (Chiffriller) Dowling. Tom lived most of his life in Naugatuck and graduated from Naugatuck High School and Boston College.

Tom loved music, boating, being outdoors and time at the beach. He enjoyed planting flowers and landscaping and Tom especially loved spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his loving wife Susan, Tom is survived by his brother, Raymond Dowling; his sisters, Judy Leask (Richard) and Jennifer Gilman (Robert); his nephews, Tommy and Matt Gilman and his niece, Mia Gilman; his father- and mother- in- law, Joseph and Dorothy DiMaggio; his sister- in- law, Donna Epps (Jim) and his beloved cat, Bindi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 10:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Everyone attending Mass is kindly asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers and to honor Tom’s memory, donations are requested to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration at www.theaftd.org.
