Tessie Stevens

Naugatuck ' Tessie Stevens, 94, formerly of Conrad St., passed away Saturday May 23, 2009 at Orange Health Care Center in Orange. She was the wife of the late George Stevens.

Mrs. Stevens was born December 4, 1914 in Waterbury. She was a longtime Naugatuck resident who loved her family. She was employed at U.S. Rubber Co. in Naugatuck, Risdon Co. in Torrington as well as Head Start in Naugatuck.

Mrs. Stevens is survived by her three sons Elston Stevens of Oxford, Jonathan Stevens of Waterbury, and Murlen Stevens of Waterbury; her daughters Lenore Stevens of MA and Peggy Piccolo of FL; 18 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. She is predeceased by her son George Jr. and her daughter Joanna.

Arrangements ' Funeral services and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd. Newington, CT 06111. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow Street is in charge of arrangements.
