WATERBURY- Donna Lee Slocum, 86, widow of the late Joseph E. Slocum, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on July 13, 2018 at Abbott Terrace.

Donna Lee was born in Chicago, IL on July 1, 1932, daughter of the late John Francis and Leanora (Winslow) Prenatt. She was a devoted member of the Mormon Church and would often cook for the missionaries. Donna Lee loved to travel, if you gave her a car, she would go. Maine was always her favorite place to travel to. She also enjoyed her pet cats and entertaining and cooking for guests.

Donna Lee is survived by her daughters, Harriet and her husband Charles Cantilena, and Brenda Lee Belcher; her sons, Joseph Slocum, and Rolland Slocum; her great granddaughter, Kaitlynn Slocum; her sisters, Gail Chalcraft and Tari-ann Velazquez; and her brother, Rolland Less. In addition to her parents and husband, Donna Lee now goes to join her grandson, Scott J. Slocum.

A service will be held 10am on July 28, 2018 at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, from Donna Lee's love of animals donations can be made in her memory to: C/o Rose Hope Animal Refuge, 201 Union Street, Waterbury, CT 06706.
