Sheila Evelyn Miller

Sheila Evelyn Miller, 75, a long-time resident of Cheshire peacefully passed on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the Jerome Home in New Britain. She was the devoted wife of the late Dale Charles Miller for 34 years until his passing in 2007. Sheila was born on October 1, 1950, in Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Abraham W. and Henrietta (Santlifer) Chaitkin.

Sheila grew up in the Bronx and met her future husband while attending City College. She and Dale shared a love of travel and enjoyed exploring abroad in their early years together before settling in Cheshire in 1973. Sheila cherished music from the 1960s and ’70s, and even attended Woodstock. She was a film buff in her own right and loved watching classic movies. In more recent years, she delighted in puzzles and crosswords and took great pride in solving Final Jeopardy!

Sheila is the beloved mother of Noel Miller and his wife Isabel of Wethersfield. She is the sister of Larry Chaitkin.

A burial and celebration of life will be held privately, to be organized by her family. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
