Scott Mackler

Scott E. Mackler, age 65, of Wolcott entered into rest on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at his home.  Scott was born on May 3, 1958 in Waterbury, son of the late Ira and Renee (Braunstein) Mackler, and was a long-time Wolcott resident.

Scott aka “Moses” was a 1976 graduate of Wolcott High School where he performed well academically and was also a member of the football team and track. Following high school, Scott attended Waterbury State Technical College where he earned his degree in Computer Programming. Throughout his career he enjoyed positions in IT with a variety of corporations that included Sero Shirtmakers, Moore & Munger, and Starter Corporation, as well as consulting for businesses in New York. He lived in Oxford for several years with his family, and was elected and appointed to the Zoning Board of Appeals.  Scott was blessed with a green thumb, having many plants and cacti in his care, an animal lover (cats), and was an avid NY Yankees fan and cigar aficionado.

Scott is the beloved father of Veronica Mackler of Philadelphia, PA and Aaron Mackler of Fort Loudon, PA.  He is also survived by his loving siblings, Lois Mackler, Mitchell Mackler and Terri Mathison, all of Wolcott; and his cherished nieces, Lindsay and Maggie and nephew, John.

Funeral services for Scott will be held at the convenience of his family.  The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury has been entrusted with his care.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in his memory, by visiting www.heart.org.
