Rosalie Fountain

Cheshire - Rosalie Fountain, 88, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of Robert Fountain.

Mrs. Fountain was born December 16, 1937, in New Haven, the daughter of the late William and Pauline (Ferrucci) LaVelle. She was a communicant of St. Bridget of Sweden Parish for over 50 years, where she was a former President of the Ladies Guild and Eucharistic Minister. She was very active in all aspects of her life including former president of the Holy Cross Mothers Club and dedicated Grandma who loved to watch her grandchildren in whatever activity they pursued.

She worked for over 30 years in the Financial Office at Choate Rosemary Hall, retiring in 2008.

Besides her husband of 65 years, she is survived by her children Robert, Jr (Barbara) Fountain of Cheshire, William (Kristin A) Fountain of Milford, and Maria Henley of Milford, her grandchildren Emily, Rebecca, Allison, Christopher, Lauren, Connor, and Morgan as well her great-grandchildren William, Andrew, Josie, and George. She is also survived by her brother William (Annette) LaVelle of Hamden.

Arrangements – Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 4 to 7 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. On Wednesday, the funeral procession for Mrs. Fountain will leave the funeral home at 9:30 and proceed to St. Bridget Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery.
