Felismina Rodrigues

Naugatuck, CT—Felismina A. Rodrigues, 88, the wife of Francisco "Frank" Rodrigues, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 with her husband by her side, as he’s been for the past 66 years. She joins her son, Frank Amador Rodrigues, who passed away in 2013.

Felismina was born January 23, 1929 in Mishawaka, IN, the eldest daughter of the late Manuel and Carolina (Pereira) Amador. She grew up in Monte, Murtosa, Portugal until she was 15, and then she moved to Naugatuck, CT with her sister. There, she went to school and worked for 32 years at the footwear division of Uniroyal, Inc. She proudly celebrated her 88th birthday this month with her loving family by her side. She lived a long, happy life traveling the world and impressing those she met with her quick wit and fierce spirit. She is known for her love of painting and her beautifully crocheted afghans.

Felismina is survived by her husband, Frank Rodrigues; her sons, Daniel Rodrigues and his wife Susan and Albert Rodrigues and his wife Dora Violeta; her daughter in law, Suzanne Rodrigues; her sister, Amalia Pinho, of Lisbon, Portugal; her 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and countless other relatives and friends who surrounded her with love, and who will miss her dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, February 3, 2017 from 5:00-8:00pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
