Roberta F. Mambrino

Palm Beach, FL With deep sorrow and immense love, we remember Roberta F. Mambrino who passed away peacefully at the age of 88 in Palm Beach, FL from complications due to Alzheimer's disease.

Born on October 12, 1936 in Waterbury, CT Roberta was a wife, devoted mother, beloved grandmother and loyal friend whose warmth and vibrant spirit touched all who knew her.

She raised her family in Naugatuck, CT where she was deeply involved in the community and an active member of St Francis of Assisi Church. She was her children's biggest supporter attending every game, match and recital with pride and joy. No one believed in her children more than Roberta did. She taught them how to work hard to achieve their goals while still enjoying the finer things life had to offer. Roberta took them on adventures throughout the world visiting places that captured her heart - Hawaii, Italy, Bahamas and England - making sure every trip was an unforgettable memory rooted in laughter and love. She also filled her home with joy by spinning beloved records, singing to her children and never passing up the chance to take them to a Broadway musical. To this day her son and daughter carry that love with them cherishing the songs that connect them to her spirit.

Later in life Roberta embraced the "snowbird lifestyle" and spent winters in sunny Florida. She adapted quickly, making new friends with ease while keeping her longtime friends close to her heart. True to her nature she threw herself into every opportunity that came her way becoming an integral part of the community. Her proudest achievement was being on the Board of Directors of the Palm Beach Citizen's Association.

Roberta was also fortunate enough to take in some of the world's most iconic sporting events including the Kentucky Derby, Wimbledon and The Masters. Her lifelong dream came true when she acquired a beach house on the pond in Rhode Island where she happily spent her summers. Roberta was an exquisite decorator and a fabulous hostess making every gathering memorable to friends and family alike.

Roberta will be remembered as a kind and generous woman. Her love was unwavering, her support constant and her legacy lives on in the hearts she touched. Roberta will be deeply missed by her husband, Lawrence J. Mambrino; her son, Dr. Lawrence Mambrino and his wife Debra Mambrino of Chestnut Hill, MA; her daughter, Attorney Donna Mambrino and her husband Marty Skelly of Farmington, CT; her cherished grandchildren, Samantha and Michael and her precious grand dogs, Lucy, Rusty and Louie. She also leaves behind many beloved cousins, nieces and friends, including her lifelong best friend, Mary Manzi.

In accordance with Roberta's wishes there will be no funeral services. Those wishing to honor her memory are encouraged to make donations in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause near and dear to her heart at www.stjude.org. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, CT.

Roberta's legacy of love and devotion lives on in all of those who knew her. The world is a better place because she was in it.
