Roberta Annenberg

Cheshire – Mrs. Roberta (Hering) Annenberg, 86, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at MidState Medical Center in Meriden on December 11, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Samuel Annenberg who passed away in 2018.

Mrs. Annenberg was born in Waterbury, March 25, 1939 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Karl and Molly (Heitner) Hering. Roberta and Sam Annenberg moved to Boca Raton in 1991. Roberta loved living in the sunshine and warm weather. She was active in the Boca Raton synagogue and made tons of friends wherever she went! Roberta loved to entertain, whether it was a Jewish holiday or a late-night “nosh” at the Annenberg’s after a joyous evening out with friends. She was especially known for her brisket and potato kugel.

In her later years, Roberta loved to travel with her husband, close friends, and beloved brother, Burt, and wife, Toshiko. Most of all, Roberta cherished spending time with her family. She was always up for fun! She loved making up songs, silly words, and playing games with her grandchildren, no matter what age they were. Roberta also loved yoga and stressed the importance of exercise and positivity. She was committed to charity work and making a difference. Her favorite was reading to the young children at the Boca Raton JCC. Her commitment to volunteering was graciously passed on to her children and grandchildren. Roberta brought joy and happiness to all who knew her. A beautiful light has been turned out, yet never forgotten. We will miss her deeply.

She is survived by her sons Michael Annenberg and his wife, Kathy, of Cheshire, Ross Annenberg and his wife, Lynne, of Hopkinton, MA; her four grandchildren, Matthew, Nicole, Alyssa, and Julia; as well as her brother, Burton Hering and his wife, Toshiko.
