Waterbury - Richard James Lord, 61, passed away unexpectedly on April 15, 2026.
Born on October 22, 1964, in Bremerton, Washington, Richard was the son of Richard William Lord and the late Gloria Lee Burns. He is also survived by his stepfather, Jack Burns.
Richard attended Naugatuck High School and graduated from Seymour High School in 1984. He went on to build a respected career as a general contractor, known for his exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride in every project he completed.
Richard’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Amanda and Karina Lord; his sister, Cherylynn Lord; his cherished grandchildren, Alivionna, Annalise, Vada, and Angel; and his nephews, David Carrubba and Nathan Lord. He also leaves behind his longtime partner, Trina Mirante, and their two cats, Angel and Hollywood.
Richard will be remembered for his infectious smile, hearty laugh, and the warm hugs he gave so generously. He had a passion for fishing and cooking, and from a young age, he admired fast cars and big trucks. Interests he proudly shared with his children. In addition to his work, Richard was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing and creating pieces that captured the attention of those around him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave. Naugatuck. Richard’s funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 12 and proceed to St. Michael Church in Beacon Falls for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck.
