Waterbury - Richard A. Hassenfeldt, 78, longtime Naugatuck resident, passed away on May 17, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital.

Mr. Hassenfeldt was born September 24, 1943, in Waterbury, son of the late John and Lillian (Kraft) Hassenfeldt Sr. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Naugatuck and worked for Peter Paul for many years. He was known for his love of God and country and was an avid Yankees fan.

Mr. Hassenfeldt is survived by his nieces and nephews Denise Dewling & Ralph Lawless, Joseph & Anne Hassenfeldt, Diane and Len Eckert, Howard & Lisa Hassenfeldt, and Lewis & Anita Hassenfeldt and their families. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers John Jr. and Howard Sr.

Arrangements – Visitation is on Friday, June 3 from 5 to 7 pm at Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Funeral services will be at Alderson-Ford on Saturday, June 4 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Wolcott. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the United Methodist Church, 208 Meadow St., Naugatuck, CT 06770.
