Naugatuck, CT Raymond M. Lennon, 77, died June 13, 2026, at VITAS Hospice Care at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Ray was born January 18, 1949 in Waterbury, CT a son of the late Clarence A. “Shanny” Lennon, Sr. and Frances Mary (Albanese) Lennon. He lived in Naugatuck all of his life and he attended Naugatuck High School. He retired after working 25 years as a para professional for the City of Waterbury.
Ray was a proud United States Marine Corps Combat Veteran, having been deployed to the DMZ during the Vietnam War. He was proud of his Irish Heritage and was a member of the Naugatuck Chapter of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Ray is survived by his sisters, Kathleen "Dee" Forstrom and her husband, Jon, and Mary Jane Morrissey and her husband, David; his brother, Clarence A. "Cary" Lennon Jr. and Karen Lineweber and his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by his son, Michael Lennon and his sister in law, Debra Lennon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Burial with military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Family and friends may call Wednesday morning from 8:30 to 10:15 at the Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Members of the Naugatuck A.O.H. will conduct a service at the funeral home Wednesday morning at 9:45. Members of the Naugatuck Veterans Council will assemble at the funeral home Wednesday morning at 10:00. In lieu of flowers and to honor Ray’s memory and military service, donations are requested to the American Legion Post #17, V A & R Fund, P.O. Box 226, Naugatuck, CT 06770.
