Rachel (Lemay) Chiginsky, 87, of Cheshire, passed away on July 12, 2026. She was born on November 6, 1938 in Worcester, MA, to the late Leo and Ora (Derie) Lemay.
Rachel belonged to St. James Church in S. Grafton, MA as well as the Daughters of Isabella Organization. Over the years, she worked as a bookkeeper for many small businesses but ended her career with Wright Line in Worcester, MA.
After retirement, Rachel moved to Cheshire in 2006 and immediately became active in the Cheshire Senior Center and making hew friends while playing cards, Wii Bowling and traveling. Rachel also enjoyed stamping and creating greeting cards for family and friends. She always had a smile and hope in her heart.
Rachel is survived by her three beloved daughters, Karen (Jeff) Purslow, Carolyn (Matt) Henderson, and Kristen (Joe) Rodier; cherished grandchildren, Jared and Jenna Purslow, Ian, Callum and Duncan Henderson, and Kayley Rodier; as well as her sisters, Yvette Armstrong and Joan Weihrauch. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Chiginsky; and brother, Robert Lemay.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish, 175 Main St., Cheshire, CT. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to: Town of Cheshire Senior Center, 240 Maple St., Cheshire, CT 06410.
