Peter J. Lango

Peter J. Lango, age 75, lifelong resident of Waterbury passed away unexpectedly at his home after a brief but courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, July 15, 2023.  He was the devoted husband of Cynthia (Partiss) Lango for over 50 years.  Peter was born on May 13, 1948 in Waterbury, son of the late James and Frances (Butkis) Lango.

Peter served his country with honor and pride with the US Army and worked for many years at Kurt Weiss Greenhouses in Cheshire as a diesel mechanic until his retirement in 2009.  He was a Nascar fan, a Harley Davidson and a football enthusiast, cheering for both the Patriots and Steelers.  Peter loved all animals, and enjoyed spending as much time in his yard as possible, and constructing model airplanes and cars during the winter months.

 In addition to his wife, Cyndi of Waterbury, Peter is survived by his loving children, Jonathan Lango and his fiancée Ashley DeBarber of Prospect; Dawn Lango of Waterbury; and Marissa Lango of Bristol.  He is also survived by his 4 cherished grandchildren Tyler, Talen, Elias and Nathaniel Lango; his brother, Frank Lango and his wife, Sandy of FL; his sister, Margaret Slagel and her husband, Robert of Lakeville; his sisters-in-law, Lorene Partiss, Kathryn Fratea and Janice McLaughlin; and his brothers-in-law, Howard and Daniel Partiss.

A Celebration of Life for Peter will be held at Mill Plain Union Church, 242 Southmayd Road, Waterbury, CT 06705 on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 11AM, please meet directly at church. Full Military Honors will be rendered following the service. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church, and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury is assisting his family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mill Plain Union Church Memorial Fund.
