Pamela A. Cappiello

CHESHIRE - Pamela A. Cappiello, 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 8, 2021, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the loving wife of Craig A. Cappiello.

Pamela was born March 4, 1949, in Brockton, MA, the daughter of the late John and Phyllis (Seaver) Miller. Pam graduated from Oliver Ames High School in 1967 in her hometown of Easton, MA. She continued on to pursue her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Bridgeport and then worked for 32 years as a social worker for the Skyview Center in Wallingford. She was a longtime Cheshire resident where she was an active member of the First Congregational Church serving on many committees and also volunteered much of her time to The Girl Scouts, Booster Club, PTO, and her daughters many school activities.

She loved cheering on the UCONN women’s basketball team with Craig by her side. Watching sports was one of her favorite leisure activities as well as her exercise classes at the Cheshire YMCA and getting together with recent and lifelong friends. Walks with family and playing golf were two of her other favorite pastimes. Pam was truly a selfless and giving person always caring about someone else other than herself, making meals for others in their time of need, and sending cards of encouragement.

Besides her devoted husband of 47 years, Pam is survived by her daughters Kimberly Murtaugh and her husband Chris and Michelle Corso and her husband Chris; her grandchildren Connor and Chase Murtaugh and Ella Corso; her sisters Jane Miller and Gail Iarrobino; her brother John Miller; her nephew Michael Iarrobino; as well as her sisters-in-law Beverly Miller and Deb Tyson. Her family was her number one priority and her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy imaginable. She couldn’t wait to attend all of their life events as she cherished them so dearly.

Pam’s family would especially like to thank Dr. Emily Gilmore of the YNHH Neurology ICU for the exceptional care and support that she provided to all of us during this incredibly difficult time.
