Noela B. Couture

Noela B. (Koslosky) Couture, age 68, of Beacon Falls, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Mark S. Couture for over 45 years; this October 5th would have marked their 46th wedding anniversary.

Born on December 23, 1956, in Waterbury, Noela was the daughter of the late Herbert and Rita (Cote) Koslosky and was a lifelong resident of Beacon Falls. She worked as a Licensed Nurse Practitioner for several area nursing facilities, most memorably, Shady Knoll in Seymour, where her compassion and dedication touched countless lives.

Noela’s greatest joys in life were marrying Mark, giving birth to her four children, and welcoming her nine beloved grandchildren. She was a collector of memories and Precious Moments figurines, always treasuring the little things that made life special. A kind-hearted and generous soul, she was a great listener who gave strength to others in their time of need.

She maintained lasting friendships and a continuous dialogue with those she loved, always sharing stories and staying connected. Her travels brought her endless happiness, from trips to Disney and Sea World to swimming with dolphins at Discovery Cove and visiting the Grand Canyon. Dumbo at Disney was her favorite ride, and although she enjoyed people-watching at amusement parks, sometimes you could even convince her to join in the fun, even though it was very scary for her.

Noela had a passion for shopping, often purchasing multiple outfits just to find the perfect one. She especially loved shopping with her daughters for homecoming and prom dresses and was always beaming with pride watching them perform on stage at dance recitals. She was equally proud of her son, in constant awe of his ability to build or fix just about anything.

A devoted grandmother, she longed to watch her grandchildren’s sporting events, and loved videos, pictures and recaps of the games. Lounging by the pool at Club Hollow, and more recently, spending time at Mark and Shirley’s pool was what she knew and loved. She was an enthusiastic fan of the Red Sox and the Dallas Cowboys and found contentment simply watching her grandchildren enjoy life.

In addition to her beloved husband Mark, Noela is survived by her children: Kyle Couture and his wife Melanie of Naugatuck; Kristin O’Dea and her husband Steven of Beacon Falls; Danielle Couture and her partner Ian Sanders of Beacon Falls; Heather Rozum and her husband Timothy of Oxford. She also leaves her nine cherished grandchildren: Ethan, Sadie, Colton, Finley, Eva, Scarlett, Fiona, Danylyn and Arielle.

She is also survived by her siblings: Sandra Mickewicz of Simsbury; Roxana Duncan and her husband William of Seymour; Melissa Vanase and her husband Gregory of Griswold; Mark Koslosky and his wife Shirley of Naugatuck; and Kimberly Shugdinis and her husband Steve of Naugatuck; along with 17 loving nieces and nephews as well as many great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, William Mickewicz.

Friends may greet Noela’s family at the Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, CT 06770 on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 4PM until 7PM. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 10AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 350 Mixville Avenue, Naugatuck—please meet directly at church. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck.
