Nancy E. McCarthy

Cheshire - Nancy E. “Nan” McCarthy, 79, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Hartford Hospital. A 50 year resident of Cheshire. She was the wife of 57 years to the late John D. “Gunky” McCarthy.

Nancy was born April 27, 1943, in Winthrop, MA, the daughter of the late George and Mary (Campbell) Grey.

Nan enjoyed her time loving (and being loved) by her grandchildren and all who knew her. Always ready to give and receive the world's best hugs. She also loved spending time with her friends, some from as early as childhood.

Nancy is survived by her children John McCarthy (Janet) of Manchester MO, Matthew McCarthy (Kelly) of New Hartford CT,  and Ellen Williams (Brian) of Cheshire;  9 grandchildren: Jessica, Travis (Dani), Michael, Douglas, Devon (Emily), and Mallory McCarthy, Lauren, Matthew (Gabbie), and Molly Michaud and 3 great grandchildren Braxton, Bryson, and Reese

Nancy is also survived by her beloved brother George S. Grey (Mary) and sisters Mary Sheila Grey and Rosemary Chamberlain (Steve).
