Nancy J. Christie, 83, beloved wife to the late Arthur J. Christie Sr. peacefully entered eternal life on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Nancy was born in Scranton, PA on November 29, 1940, to the late David Reynolds and Marie (Reynolds)Karpinski. She was also the beloved stepdaughter to the late John Karpinski.
Nancy moved to Bridgeport, CT where she met her late husband Arthur and they raised a beautiful family. Nancy was employed by General Electric and Bic Corporation before retiring from the Trans Fashion Industry. Nancy was an avid baseball fan and would keep track of the statistics on every game for her favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees. She enjoyed spending time with her husband fishing, watching the Yankees play ball and mostly spending time with her family.
Nancy is survived by her beloved children, Barbara (Salvatore) Rianna of Naugatuck, CT, Arthur (Renee) Christie Jr. of Pine Bush, NY and Paul (Lisa) Christie of Pawleys Island, SC. Her cherished grandchildren: Kelly (William) Stanton, Joseph Downey, Stephanie (Edward) Garcia, Sarah, Mia, Alanna, Samantha and Spencer Christie. Great-Grandchildren: Katelynn, Christie and Chloe Stanton and Abbie Garcia (arriving soon). She is also survived by her brother Thomas (Dolores) Reynolds of Stratford, CT and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, Nancy is predeceased by her daughter Linda Christie, granddaughter Kathy Christie, granddaughter Erica Christie, grandson A.j.Christie III, sister Ann (Reynolds) Karpinski and brother Robert Reynolds.
She will be cremated at this time and interred with her husband at a future graveside service. At that time the celebration of Nancy’s life will be announced for those who wish to attend.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Newtown Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for giving Nancy the best care the last few years of her life.
