Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Margaret Rossi, aged 86, who left us peacefully on June 1, 2026, at her home in Cheshire, CT. She was the loving wife of Francis Michael Rossi, Jr. Mary was born February 12, 1940, in Derby, CT, a daughter of the late Henry and Amy (Hasset) Martorano. Mary lived a life full of love, laughter, and service to her community.

Mary’s career as the Director of the Cheshire Chamber of Commerce was marked by her passion for bringing people together and supporting local businesses. A trailblazer for women in leadership, she was the first female member of the Cheshire Rotary Club, where she made lasting friendships and contributed to countless community initiatives. Along with her husband, Mary was a founding member of St. Thomas Becket Parish, where she was active in numerous parish activities, reflecting her deep commitment to both her parish and the numerous lives she touched through her charitable work.

Besides her loving husband, Mary leaves behind her three sons, Frank Rossi, III, David Rossi, and Stephen Rossi. Mary was also a cherished grandmother to Mackenzie, Madison, Isabella, and Abigail. Her sister, Ann Davidson, will miss her dearly. We ask that you keep Mary and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Funeral services in celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Saturday June 6, 2026 beginning at 9:15 a.m. from the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 South Main Street and proceed to St. Bridget of Sweden Church 175 Main Street in Cheshire for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Prayers of committal and interment will be held privately in St. Bridget Cemetery.
