Mary Nowakowski

LITCHFIELD- Mrs. Mary (Kowal) Nowakowski, 93, of 19 Constitution Way, Litchfield died Monday evening, Jan. 26, 2009 at her home. She was the widow of Carl Nowakowski. Mrs. Nowakowski was born in Seymour, Aug. 8, 1916, a daughter of the late Michael and Eva (Filak) Kowal and had been a resident of Norwalk for over 50 years prior to moving to Litchfield in 2006. She had been a volunteer at Norwalk Hospital for many years, and was a retired employee of C.R. Gibson Co. of Norwalk. She leaves one brother, Samuel Kowal of Waterbury and one sister, Anne (Kowal) Dyson of Naugatuck, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, Harry Kowal, Max Kowal, and Michael Katz.Private funeral services will be held on Saturday Jan. 31, 2009 at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. There are no calling hours.
