Mary Kareliussen

CHESHIRE - Mary Kareliussen, 73, was called to heaven on Sunday, December 5, 2021. She was the wife of her high school sweetheart and greatest love, Robert Kareliussen.

Mary was born March 18, 1948, in Germany, the daughter of the late William and Barabra (Makar) Ostrowski. She came to the U.S. at the age of 3 where she resided in Warwick, RI. After moving to Connecticut in 1966, Mary and her family moved to Cheshire in 1978, where she has resided since. Mary worked as a Training Coordinator at Bloomingdales, retiring in 2003. She enjoyed caring for her garden, crocheting, and was always up for a trip to the casino.

Besides her husband of 56 years, Mary is survived by her sons Kevin and his wife Nina and Robert and his wife Cathy as well as her grandchildren Connor, Cole, Erik and Jenna and her grandpup Chancellor.
Mary beamed with love and kindness and her memory will be cherished.

Arrangements – Visitation will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021, from 9 to 11 am at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. A funeral service will be held at 11. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
