OAKVILLE- Marjorie Menaker, 72, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Michael Menaker.
Mrs. Menaker was born July 1, 1946 daughter of the late Samuel and Ruth (Silverman) Wolfson.
Marjorie graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Nursing. She worked as a Geriatric Nurse for forty plus years in several facilities including, WhiteWood Rehabilitation Center, Abbott Terrace Health Center, and Beacon Brook Health Center, and retired eight years ago as an Assistant Director of Nurses. Mrs. Menaker was affiliated with many charities and organizations over years such as Sisterhood of Beth El and Kol Ami, Pomegranate Guild of Judaic Needlework as President of the Pioneer Valley Chapter as well as the International Treasurer, life member of Hadassah serving the Waterbury Chapter in many capacities including President and a member of the Cheshire chapter, Board of Directors at Beth El Synagogue, President of the Beth El Sisterhood in Waterbury, volunteered at the Greater Waterbury Interfaith Ministries making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches monthly, and a member of Temple Beth Sholom in Hamden.
Besides her husband Mrs. Menaker is survived by her two sons Barry Menaker of Atlanta, GA, and Jonathan and his wife Kelly Menaker of Cleveland Heights, OH; and two grandsons Gary, and Matthew.
A funeral service for Marjorie will be held “Today” 11 A.M, Thursday, April 25, 2019 at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 496 Chase Ave, 06704. Burial will follow at Farband Cemetery in Morris.
