WEST HAVEN, CT- Mrs. Marion L. (Hughson) Griffin, 81, of 32 Bungalow Lane, West Haven, passed away Wednesday April 28, 2010 at her home. She was the widow of Francis D. Griffin, Sr., who passed away in 1981.

Mrs. Griffin was born in Waterbury, March 19, 1929, a daughter of the late Stewart and Ruby (Nickerson) Hughson and was educated in the Waterbury schools system. She had been a resident of West Haven for the past 10 years, having moved from Beacon Falls, where she had resided for over 50 years. She was a former communicant of St. Michael's Church in Beacon Falls and retired in 1993 from Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford where she had worked for 24 years.

She leaves three daughters, Kathleen Hickey of West Haven, with whom she made her home, Carol Murphy of Cooperstown, NY, and Cynthia Korhonen of East Longmeadow, MA; two sons, Francis D. Griffin, Jr. of Bethany and Daniel Griffin of Derby; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, David M. Griffin.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday May 1, 2010 at 9:15 am from the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. ad proceed to St. Michael's Church, 25 Maple Ave., Beacon Falls, 06403-1145, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Cross St., Naugatuck, 06770-4729. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday April 30, 2010 from 6 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Conn. Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, 06405-4909 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1004, Meriden, 06450-1004
