Marilyn Rose Bertotti, 92, of Cheshire, Connecticut, beloved wife of the late Oswald “Wally” Bertotti, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025. Marilyn was born on July 31, 1933, in New York, New York, to the late Frederick and Rose Jung.
Marilyn grew up in Maspeth, Queens, New York. After graduating college in Rhode Island, she taught Kindergarten and First Grade in both the Berlin and Kensington, Connecticut school systems. She taught from 1959 until her retirement in 1998. She started a second career at Stop & Shop as a Floral Designer, due to her love of flowers, until her retirement in 2018. In her earlier years, while a schoolteacher, Marilyn owned a 1963 black split window Corvette coupe with a red interior. She was very proud of that car and loved driving it everywhere.
Marilyn was a member of the Cheshire Community Chorus and the Cheshire Garden Club. Her husband, Wally, built a home on Lake Moodus, Connecticut. They greatly enjoyed spending time there. Marilyn loved being around her family and would always travel back to Maspeth for holidays and family get togethers.
Marilyn was predeceased by her sister, Joan Marie Rosbeck and brother-in-law Robert. She is survived by her niece, Lynn Pope and her husband Russell Butti; nephew-in-law, Jim McIntyre; grand nephews, Andrew, Brian and Christopher Pope and Michael and John McIntyre; and great grand nieces, Emma Rose McIntyre and Danielle Pope. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her niece, Janice Marie McIntyre.
In accordance with her wishes, no funeral services will be held. She will be laid to rest with family at a later date.
