Maria S. Gaspar

Naugatuck – Maria S. Gaspar, 89, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at her home. She was the wife of the late Fausto C. Gaspar, who passed away in 2024.

Mrs. Gaspar was born November 30, 1936, in Portugal, the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Pereira) DaSilva. She had moved to the U.S. in 1977 and had worked at Butterfields Manufacturing and Eyelet Crafters until her retirement in 1991. She was a member of the Terryville Gospel Hall.

Mrs. Gaspar is survived by her children Madalena Antonucci and her husband Joe, Emilia Pabon and her husband Angel, Irene LaRoe and her husband Peter, Sara Hoyt and her husband Tom, Jose Gaspar and his wife Rita, Isabel Antonucci and her husband Peter, Cristina Neidt, and Marco Gaspar and his wife Marcia; his daughter-in-law Lurdes Gaspar; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her sons Joel and Joao Paulo Gaspar.

Arrangements – Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 9 to 11 am at the Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck. At 11 am, a prayer service will be held before processing to Grove Cemetery for committal services.
