Naugatuck, CT Alice G. Luddy, 87, the widow of William F. Luddy, died gracefully on May 28, 2019 at Beacon Brook Health Center.

Alice was born on April 19, 1932 in Raeford, NC a daughter of the late William Thomas and Gertrude (Lockey) Wright. Alice lived in Naugatuck most of her life and she also lived in Prospect for two years with her daughter Diane. Filled with southern charm, she was known for her delicious fried chicken, sweet tea and banana pudding, and she never lost her accent.

Alice is survived by her children, Alice Faye Bates of Litchfield, ME, Diane Pereira (Alfred) of Prospect, CT, William F. Luddy, Jr. (Cindy) of Plantsville, CT and Brenda Luddy (Daniel Perlini) of Naugatuck, CT; her grandchildren, Meredith Bates, Michelle Keller, Christopher Pereira, Sara Bates, Michael Pereira, Gary Macelis, Samantha Jasulavic and Max Macelis and her eight great grandchildren. Alice was predeceased by her sisters, Ruth Wright Wilkes, Geneva L. Peacock, Myrtle Wright McGee and Shelby Rowe.

Alice’s family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Beacon Brook Health Center for the wonderful care that they provided.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 10:00am at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. A calling hour will be Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00am.
