Louise Mary (Scanlon) Meyerjack, 57, of Cheshire died Tuesday October 14, 2008 at the Southington Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Louise was born October 9, 1951 in New Haven, the daughter of Matilda (Reynolds) Lawlor and the late John T. Scanlon. She was a graduate of Branford High School and was an Occupational Therapist at the Southington Care Center for 10 years. She was a member of the Cheshire Lions Club and was an active fundraiser for many charities including the Relay for Life and the New Horizons Foundation. Louise was an active Communicant of the Church of the Epiphany in Cheshire where she was involved in many activities including the home tour. She was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, God mother and friend. She also was an avid walker and loved sharing good times at the beach. Besides her mother and step father Harry F. Lawlor of Branford, she leaves her son, Matthew Meyerjack of Cheshire, her daughter, Kristen Meyerjack also of Cheshire, her brother John Scanlon and his wife Linda of Killingworth and her nieces and nephews John and Meghan Scanlon of Killingworth, Todd Meyerjack of Cheshire, Bill Meyerjack of Rhode Island and Laurel Zimmerman of Arizona. A mass of Christian Burial for Louise will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Epiphany 1750 Huckins Road in Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Saint Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven. Friends may call at the Slater Funeral Home on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research ATTN Cathy Weber 1111 Stewart Ave. Bethpage, NY 11714.
