Louise Brown

Louise Brown, age 82, of Waterbury and formerly of New York City, entered into rest at her home on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. She was the devoted wife of the late James Brown. Louise was born on March 31, 1942 in Yonkers, NY, daughter of the late Catherine and Allen Scott.

Louise worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the Jewish Home for the Aged on the Upper West Side in Manhattan for over 30 years until her retirement. She devoted much of her time to the Macedonia Baptist Church in Harlem, NY. Throughout her life she enjoyed travelling to many places, Hawaii and her favorite, Aruba; and hitting the slots in Atlantic City. She was the light in every room, life of every party and a mother to many. 

Louise is survived by her loving sisters, Shirley Davis and Jane Scott, both of Waterbury; her nephews, Gary Scott of Brooklyn, NY, Robert Scott of NY, and Jason Scott of Charleston, SC; her nieces, Lisa Scott-Wright of Waterbury, Brandi Brown of NYC, and Timika Scott of Charleston, SC; great-nieces; Tiffany and Tia; great-nephews, Brandon and Alex; great-great-nephews, Wilton and Connor; great-great-nieces, Bralyn and Bailee; and a host of cousins. She will also be remembered and missed by her lifelong friends, Charlotte, Shirley and Georgia; and her longtime coworker and friend, Ollie Hooks.

Friends may greet Louise’s family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 496 Chase Avenue, Waterbury CT 06704 on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 2PM until 4PM. Burial will be private. To leave condolences for her family, please visit www.fordfh.com
