Louise Bradley

BEACON FALLS - Louise Bradley, 91, passed away peacefully Friday, January 27, 2023, at her home in Beacon Falls, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her loving husband, the late Robert H. Bradley.

Louise was born April 12, 1931, in Beacon Falls, daughter of the late Carlos and Ambrosia (Cobo) Gandarillas. She attended Naugatuck High School and received her Bachelor’s degree in education from The New Haven State Teachers College in 1953. Louise taught in the Waterbury and Beacon Falls school systems before retiring in 1990.

Louise leaves behind her sons, Robert Bradley and his wife Marion, and Paul Bradley and his wife Janet, and her daughter, Nancy Bradley. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Kate (Branden), Pat, Allie (Matt), Nicki, and Jackson and her great-granddaughter Valerie. Louise also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, their families, and multiple others who consider her a dear friend. In addition to her husband and parents, Louise was predeceased by her sister Amby Talbot, and brothers Del, Joe, and Charlie Gandarillas.

Besides her many years of teaching, Louise was known to make the best apple pie on earth, along with many other family favorite recipes. She knitted numerous mittens and sweaters for the little ones. She enjoyed quilting with her friends. Her love of family was unending. Louise spent many a weekend ringside in the dust or mud as the best horse show mom to Nancy and all her equestrian friends. But only once in her life that we know of actually sat upon a steed. She spent countless hours alongside Bob as he fished, boating with their sons, and sitting poolside—but rarely did she touch the water. Friends and family all enjoyed her quick wit and famous punch lines—although she never remembered the joke. In her recent decades, Louise was a rabid UConn girls’ basketball fan. She enjoyed her iPad and was a fierce Words with Friends competitor. Louise touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

Friends may greet her family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow Street, on Tuesday evening, January 31, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 25 Maple Ave, Beacon Falls. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
