Louis Dobler Jr.

Naugatuck - Louis Dobler Jr., 74, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at his home.  He was the husband of Susan Dobler.

Louis was born September 7, 1949, in Bridgeport, the son of the late Louis and Beverly (Greene) Dobler, Sr.  He was raised in Fairfield as well as Troy VT.  He graduated from Fairfield Warde High School, Class of 1967, and was a Machine Operator for Allied Signal Stratford for 18 years until they closed.   He has been a Naugatuck resident since the early 1980s.

A fisherman at heart, he loved to be out on his boat, first thing in the morning whether the fish were biting or not.  He was great with his hands, whether it was updating things in his house or fixing whatever was broken.  He enjoyed his morning coffee and sneaking M&M's to his grandkids at every opportunity. He was witty and sarcastic and loved to tease everyone and anyone at any opportunity.

Besides his wife of 33 years, Louis is survived by his sons Eric Dobler and his wife Amanda and their two sons Brady and Kasen; Kevin Dobler and his wife Melissa and their two daughters Ashley and Courtney; his brothers Rick Dobler (Wanda) and Steve Dobler; his sisters Kathy Stevens (Greg) and Sharon Dobler; his stepdaughter Shelley Alsdorf and her two sons Jake Wright (Marissa) and Josh Wright; his stepson Art Alsdorf and his three sons Artie (Kashia), Evan and Nathan; his two great-grandsons Maverick and Lincoln, as well as several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Linda Tetreault and his stepmother, Betty Dobler.
