Lorraine P. Dugas, 89, of Cheshire, beloved wife of the late Floyd R. Dugas, passed away on August 27, 2026. Lorraine was born on February 8, 1937, in Waterbury, to the late James Patrick and Gertrude Purcell. She grew up in Greenwich where she was a member of the Greenwich High School class of 1955.

Lorraine was a feisty woman who was inherently proud of her Irish heritage. Her devotion to her family was evident in the ways she spoke and cared about them all. Her love didn’t stop at her immediate family – it extended to her siblings, distant family and friends. Lorraine was eager to lend a hand or a listening ear to anyone in need. In moments of relaxation, she enjoyed watching her favorite news network and expressing her own opinions alongside a freshly brewed cup of coffee.

Lorraine leaves behind her children, Floyd J. (Carolyn) Dugas, James Dugas, Melanie (Mario) Cherubino, Alan (Melanie) Dugas, Timothy Dugas, Heidi (Craig) Kazemekas and Betsy (Kevin) Gavitt; her grandchildren, Rachael (Stephen) Dugas-Murray, Chelsea (Bruce) Beckman, Chandler (Dylan) Arthur, Nicole (Chad) Sciarra, Alyssa (Dan Williams) Cherubino, Gabrielle Cherubino, Brodie Dugas, Craig (Kylie Roosa-Kazemekas) Kazemekas, Kayla (Hunter) Fountain, Colby (Shae) Gavitt and Erik Gavitt; ten great grandchildren; and her siblings, Mary Woolven, Deborah Gurnee and Charles Todd Purcell. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Joyce Walker, Maureen Church, John Purcell, Jerry Purcell and James Purcell.

Services will be privately held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury where she will be laid to rest with her late husband.
