CHESHIRE –Lindsay Kate Cunningham, 30, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Yale-New Haven Hospital after a year-long battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and her betrothed, Steven Christopher.

Lindsay was born February 13, 1991 in New Haven, daughter of Jay and Nan (Shanley) Cunningham, Jr. Lindsay grew up in Cheshire, and graduated from Westover School in Middlebury, where she was a standout golfer and soccer player. She received a BA in Communication and Media Studies from Furman University, Greenville, SC, and was a legacy of Chi Omega sorority. Lindsay previously worked as Communication Director and Public Information Officer for the City of Easley, SC, as a Marketing Coordinator for Bon Secours Arena, Greenville, SC; and most recently, for University Conference Services, in Raleigh, NC.

At 23, Lindsay was diagnosed with T1D, and helped in raising awareness and funds for diabetes research through many special events. With her diagnosis of cancer, and throughout her treatment, Lindsay continued to live life and hope for a cure. Lindsay enjoyed traveling abroad and golfing with family and friends. “Londs or Blondie,” Lindsay was known for her golden blond hair, her beautiful smile, and quick, sarcastic wit.

In addition to her parents and betrothed, Lindsay is survived by her brother Jack and his fiancé Kathleen, sister Paige, grandparents Jay and Carole Cunningham, Sr. and her beloved English Bull Dog, Buddha. Lindsay also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss her and keep her memory alive every day. Lindsay is predeceased by her grandparents, Richard and Beverly Shanley.

Arrangements – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021, at 10:30am, at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish / St. Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements, and there will be no calling hours.
