Kenneth E. Grohs Jr.

Naugatuck - Kenneth E. Grohs Jr., 57, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Carrie (Scullin) Grohs.

Kenny was born June 1, 1967, in Waterbury, the son of the late Kenneth Grohs Sr and the late Vera (Sheridan) Grohs. He was a lifelong resident of Naugatuck, graduating from Sacred Heart High School Class of 1985. He was a Manager for Eversource, where he worked for 37 years. He had an immense love for his family and was always the light of the room. Kenny loved cornhole, fishing, golfing, jeep rides with “The Gang”, Badsons Beer Co stops, and trips to Aruba. He also loved watching his Cowboys, Oregon Ducks, and Yankees. Kenny spent close to 20 years dedicating time to Union City Little League as a coach and Treasurer. He will forever be known as a wonderful husband, father, and person to everyone he knew. Kenny was also an Elk.

Besides his wife of Carrie of 33 years, Kenny is survived by his children Corey and Carly; his sister Kimberly Gilbert and her husband Dr. Richard Gilbert; his brother James Grohs and his wife Patricia; nieces and nephews Kaitlyn Grohs, Joshua Gilbert, Samantha Gilbert, and Matthew Grohs; Mother-in-law Joan Scullin; Sister-in-law Colleen Scullin and Dr. Richard Matza; Brother-in-law Patrick Scullin and his wife Brenda; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Arrangements – Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 4 to 7 pm at the Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave. Funeral services and committal will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Union City Little League, 165 Morris St., Naugatuck, CT 06770 or Kenny’s children’s education fund, making checks payable to Carrie Grohs and mailed to the funeral home.
