Kathleen Kuehl

WATERBURY - Kathleen Hoben Kuehl, 83, of Waterbury, CT passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, April 9, 2023.

Kathleen was born on November 15, 1939 in Torrington, CT to the late James P. and Mary Curtain Hoben.

She graduated from Cheshire High School in 1958 and from Bay Path College in 1961. She married the love of her life, Robert P. Kuehl, Sr. on August 4, 1962, and they were happily married for 49 years.  She worked for Medicare for many years until her retirement. She loved our summers spent vacationing at Scarborough Beach in Rhode Island, reading, shopping and her “grand dog” Sawyer who protected her fiercely, and her time spent with her friends at the Waterbury Senior Center.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Kathleen Ramos and her husband Orlando Ramos, of Waterbury, with whom she made her home, and her son Robert P. Kuehl, Jr., and his wife Jacqueline (Enright) Kuehl, of Cheshire, CT.  She also leaves her six loving grandchildren Matthew Ramos, Stephanie Ramos, and Nicholas Ramos, all of  Waterbury, CT, Benjamin Kuehl of Cheshire, CT, Margaret Kuehl of New Haven, CT and Mary Kuehl of CO. She also leaves to cherish her memory her sister Margaret Iacobellis, and her husband Dante Iacobellis, of Branford,  CT, and her brother James P. Hoben, and his wife Joyce Hoben, of Melbourne, FL., as well as her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Ellen Sanchez and her brother-in- law Paul Sanchez.

Arrangements - Services will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 11:30 A.M., at the Anderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street. Mom would love it if you wore a bit of Irish green to honor her memory. Burial will be private and at the discretion of her family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
