Judith E. Bernasconi

Cheshire - Judith E. Bernasconi, 80, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024, at her home. She was the loving wife of Louis Bernasconi and the loving mother to Stacey Bernasconi.

She is also survived by 2 sisters in law, a brother-in-law, many dearly loved cousins, nieces and nephews, and cherished friends.

Judith was born January 24, 1944, in Derby, CT, and raised in Bridgeport, CT. She was the daughter of (the late) Walter and Helen (Popowski) Kohanski and was a communicant of St. Bridget of Sweden Parish.

She loved to travel and vacationed regularly in Europe which she thoroughly enjoyed. In later years, she enjoyed spending winters in Florida at her villa in Delray Beach.

In 2010, after over thirty years of service, she retired from the State of Connecticuts Department of Developmental Services. During her years with the state, she was proud to serve as a Union Steward.

Judith will always be remembered for her loyalty, generosity, unwavering kindness, and deep love for her family and friends.

Arrangements – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 10 am. At St. Bridget of Sweden Parish - St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Dr. Daniel Boffa, 333 Cedar Street, New Haven, CT 06510 specifying lung cancer research or to a charity of one’s choice.
