Joyce (Leaman) Gensler, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at The Village at East Farms. She was the wife of the late Floyd Gensler Jr.
Born in Cheshire on November 16, 1932, Joyce was the daughter of the late George and Katherine (Scott) Leaman. Joyce was also predeceased by her brother, George Leaman, and sister, Lois Gensler.
Joyce graduated from Crosby High School, married, raised her family in Middlebury, and was a member of the Hillside Covenant Church in Naugatuck for over 30 years. She loved her family, nature, animals, and gardening. Her love of flowers led her to work at several flower shops over the years as a designer. She would display her flower arrangements at craft shows throughout Connecticut for years. Joyce also worked as a private health care aide in Southbury.
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Kenny Dalton) in Vail, Arizona, and Lori in Waterbury; her sister-in-law, Trudy Leaman, and several nephews and nieces.
Joyce’s family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff and administration of The Harbor at The Village at East Farms, the staff at AccentCare Hospice, her friend Kathy Carrillo, and Visiting Angels for their outstanding and compassionate care of Joyce over the past several years.
All services will be private at the convenience of the family. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury has been entrusted with her care. www.fordfh.com
