Josephine A. Settembri

CHESHIRE - Josephine A. (Addazio) Settembri, 89, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 14, 2019, after battling a long illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Salvatore J. Settembri.

Mrs. Settembri was born June 16, 1930, in Staten Island, NY, daughter of the late Umberto and Maria (Pacelli) Addazio.

Josephine enjoyed working at St. Mary's Hospital for 24 dedicated years. She was an extraordinarily hardworking, strong-willed, sassy woman. Her creative talents shone through her love of baking, decorating and immaculately maintaining her home.

Mrs. Settembri was especially proud of her four daughters, Elizabeth Bacchiocchi and her husband Orfeo, Sally Velcofsky and her husband Peter, Marianne Wiese and her husband Kurt, Barbara Johnson and her husband Paul; her sister, Marie Siao and her husband Newton; and her brothers, Anthony Addazio and his wife Nancy and Albert Addazio and his wife Carmela. She will also be missed by her loving grandchildren, Amanda & Sarah Bacchiocchi, Zachary, Emma & Hanna Velcofsky, Rachel Urso, Jeanette Wiese, and Faye & Tess Johnson. She was predeceased by her brother, Louis Addazio.

A private service, attended by close loved ones, was held on Thursday, December 19, 2019, to honor Josephine's memory. She will be greatly missed. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
