Joseph Maisto, 78, of Cheshire, beloved husband of Diane Zemke Maisto passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved father of Joseph(Shauna) Maisto of Southington and Kathryn Maisto Klemonski of Wolcott. Joe is survived by four grandchildren: Joseph, Ella, Emma and Lylah and thirteen nieces and nephews. Brother of Patrick (Margie) Maisto previously deceased, William (Lea) Maisto and sister Mary (Vincent) Tremaglio.
Joe was born on February 7, 1948 in Waterbury Hospital, son of the late Mary Azzara Maisto and Joseph Maisto. He was a devout Catholic and a long time parishioner of Saint Bridget of Sweden Parish. Joe enjoyed his family and was proud of his role as husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He loved to dabble in the kitchen, perfected a wonderful Vodka Sauce, grilled everything and was a deep fryer of all fishes for Christmas Eve dinner. He loved sitting at the dining room table with family and friends. He loved to vacation in the Caribbean Islands and sit and sun either at the beach or pool. He loved to socialize and he had many lifelong friends. A special thank you to Regency House in Wallingford for their care and compassion.
