Cheshire – John Louis Rowinski , 83, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at St Raphael’s Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Judith Anne Rowinski who died in July 2025.

Mr. Rowinski was born November 22, 1942, in Bridgeport CT, the only son of Emil Louis Rowinski and Mary Frances Sheeran Rowinski, of Troy, NY. John was a chemical engineer and a safety plant manager in the industrial chemical industry for Enthone – Asarco in Connecticut and Bridgeview, Illinois. He later worked with Chemscope Inc. of North Haven CT as a building site inspector and trainer for gas & air testing quality across Connecticut.

John graduated Fairfield College Preparatory School (Fairfield, CT) in 1960, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute ( Troy, Albany NY) in 1964, similar to his father Emil, with his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, and later The University of New Haven with his MBA. John belonged to numerous professional chemical industry associations and kept a professional network of academic mentors and colleagues throughout his career.

John is survived by his devoted daughters Leigh Anne and Jamie Lynn Rowinski of Cheshire. In addition to his parents and his wife Judith, John is predeceased by his son, John Christopher Rowinski (Barbara Sands).

John will be best remembered for his loving devotion and happiness with his wife Judy of 61 years, his exemplary commitment to her and his children, and his many talents he has shared as a father, husband, professional colleague, neighbor, community & school volunteer, and sports coach including for Cheshire Challengers baseball, bowling, COCO, and Abilities without Boundaries career and personal development.

He has always demonstrated a strong commitment to education and professional pursuits, and his Catholic faith community, including as a member of St Bridget of Sweden parish including the development of the elementary school since 1994 alongside his wife as a long time teacher and administrator. He has always provided a positive example of achievement, and shares great wisdom to actually learn, and do your very best work to develop yourself.

Arrangements- Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28th, 2026, from 5 to 7 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. On Saturday, August 29th, his procession will leave the funeral home at 11:30 am and proceed to St. Bridget of Sweden Parish – St. Bridget Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery.
