John’s professional journey was as distinguished as it was enduring. For 39 years, beginning in 1987 with E.F. Hutton & Company and culminating at Raymond James/CSK Wealth Management, John served as a trusted advisor and wealth manager in the New Haven and West Hartford areas. His career was marked by a rare ability to bridge the gap between complex financial strategy and genuine human connection. Whether working with clients on the east coast or the west, he cultivated relationships that blossomed into lifelong friendships. He took immense pride in his work within the entertainment industry, providing stability and counsel to those navigating the high-stakes world of the arts.

Beyond his desk, John was a familiar and respected voice in the community. For a decade, he brought clarity to the morning headlines as a regular financial commentator on WTNH News 8. His expertise was further shared on the national stage, where he served as a featured speaker at numerous symposiums and conferences, often alongside his longtime colleague and cherished friend, Rhonda Kendall-Lisbon.

Yet, to define John solely by his professional accomplishments would be to overlook the vibrant, daredevil spirit that fueled his days. Long before he was managing portfolios, he was a professional freestyle skier, a passion that eventually led him to the global stage as an MC for World Cup events and the Olympic Games. His appetite for life was insatiable; he was a man who found beauty in the lens of a camera, purpose in design, and thrill in the unknown. Whether he was carving through ocean waves on a surfboard, traversing the open road on his motorcycle, or coming face-to-face with great white sharks, John approached every experience with a courageous heart and a steady hand.

Above all, John was a man of profound warmth and deep, infectious joy. He possessed a unique gift for turning the mundane into the memorable, particularly through his devotion to his family. He took singular delight in planning elaborate surprises and cozy sleepovers for his beloved niece, Koral Cinquino, ensuring that every moment spent with her was filled with magic. John is survived by his devoted wife, Kathryn Campeau, who stood by his side through every adventure. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, John Campeau Sr. and Patricia Campeau. He leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory forward: his sisters, Lori Campeau of Tampa and Shari Cardozo of St. Petersburg; his nephews, Manuel Cardozo (and his children Akyla, Gabriel, Elijah, and Amara) and Ben Cardozo (and his children Emerson and Millie); and his nieces, Sarah (and her daughter Avery) and Hannah Cardozo.
