Joan Shelton DuCharme Farrington

Bethany, CT     Joan Shelton DuCharme Farrington, entered into Heavenly Peace on May 23, 2026. Joan was a devoted Disciple of God who dedicated her life to walking in His Word.

Joan was born July 21, 1931 in Bridgeport to Elsie and Howard DuCharme. Joan, a resident of her beloved hills of Bethany for over 60 years, was predeceased by her husband, Franicis Joseph Farrington; by her parents, Howard Paul and Elsie Louise Shelton DuCharme; her sisters, Lois Louise DuCharme and Lorraine Marie DuCharme Crocco; her brothers, Howard Paul and Robert Edward DuCharme.

Joan leaves behind her sister, Dorothy Lyman DuCharme Gaudette; her children, David, Mary Ellen (Jim), Mark (Monique), Kathleen, Patrick (Jill), Catherine Granton and Donna Farrington. She also leaves behind her six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Joan and family would like to thank her Sisters in Christ, also known as the God Squad, for their decades of prayer, love, support and dedication. To each one of you “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” — Jesus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 29, 2026 at 11:00am at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck. Burial will follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT. Calling hours are Friday from 9:00am to 10:15am at the Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, CT.
