Joan Driscoll

Joan Driscoll, 87, of Cromwell, formerly of Cheshire, beloved wife of the late Peter Driscoll, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025. Joan was born on August 15, 1937, in Meriden, CT, to the late Alfred and Ruth Dondero.

Joan was a remarkable person, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Joan’s family was her greatest love and joy. She also loved learning and teaching, dedicating her professional life to being a teacher for more than 25 years, where she nurtured and guided her students at Long River Middle School in Prospect, CT. In addition to teaching, Joan was the proud owner, along with her husband Peter, of Stimpson’s Pharmacy in Wallingford. Joan had a ‘green thumb’ and a passion for planting and building beautiful gardens. Joan loved to travel with her family and friends to all corners of the world, and she always looked forward to the next adventure in her life.

Joan leaves behind her children, Beth (Brian) Manning and Sean (Elise) Driscoll; grandchildren, Conor (Marianne), Daniel (Vincent), Haley (Billy), Clare (Chris) and Ruth; and great-grandson, Mason. In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Molner.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 9:30 until 10:30AM at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 South Main St., Cheshire, CT. At 10:45AM, her funeral procession will leave the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30AM at St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire, CT. Burial will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery, Higgins Rd., Cheshire, CT.
