Plymouth - Jessie H. Gwisdala, 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 29, 2025. She was the wife of the late Andrew Gwisdala.

Jessie was born February 14, 1941, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Charles Wesley and Marion (Gordon) Hennion, Jr. She was a graduate of St. Margaret’s Diocesan School, Wheelock College class of 1963, the University of Hartford class of 1967, and Southern Connecticut State University class of 1987.

After graduation, she taught first grade in Wheaton Il and returned to Waterbury, where she taught at Chase School until her retirement. Jesse was a member of the Best Program of Connecticut, mentoring new teachers. She worked with CCSU as a co-operating teacher for student teachers. Once a week, she taught water aerobics at the YMCA. She was an active member of Mill Plain Union Church, where she sang in the choir and was active in the women’s guild, as well as many committees.

Jessie is survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to her husband and her parents, she Is predeceased by her brothers Wesley, Lawrence, and Colin Hennion and her sister Nancy Nutter.

Arrangements – A Funeral service will be held on Saturday December 6, 2025, at 10 am the Mill Plain Church 242 Southmayd Rd, Waterbury. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. The Alderson-Ford of Waterbury is assisting with arrangements.
