Jean M. Thompson of Cheshire, CT, died peacefully at her home on September 30, 2026. Born and raised in Alabama, she was the wife of the late Gary Lee Thompson, who died on February 7, 2015. They were married for 38 years; she carried a deep love for Gary and missed him until her passing.
Jean was a woman of deep faith in God, with a huge heart for everyone in her life. She effortlessly lit up every room she entered with her warmth and kindness. A devoted mother and grandmother, her family was always her primary focus.
She founded Consignment Originals in Cheshire in 1982. From one small store, she and Gary grew the business to four stores throughout Connecticut and became a fixture to those communities. Throughout the years, Consignment Originals employees and customers became family to Jean, and she will be missed.
She is survived by her three sons Jim Procanik, Jerry Procanik, and William Procanik (from her first husband Anthony Procanik); her stepdaughter, Stephanie Pawuk; and her 10 grandchildren.
Arrangements – Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 1 to 3 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. A funeral service will be held at 3 pm. Committal will be held at the convenience of the family.
