Janet Lee Strange

Janet Lee Strange, age 86 of Cheshire, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Michael Strange until his passing in 2001. Janet was born on September 14, 1939 in Manchester, daughter of the late Lebro and Emily (Pillard) Fracchia.

Janet was raised in Manchester, where she attended local schools and met her husband, Michael, in high school before the couple settled in Cheshire. She was an active and devoted volunteer in and around the Cheshire community. Known for her remarkable skills in the kitchen, Janet was a fabulous hostess who loved entertaining family and friends. She and Michael traveled extensively throughout the world, creating cherished memories, and spent many joyful summers with their family at their beach house in Quonnie (Charlestown) Rhode Island, where Janet was a member of the QEBA Garden Club. She also enjoyed her time with her Tennis Club and will be remembered for her sparkling personality, generous spirit, and wonderfully wild sense of humor.

Janet is the beloved mother of Jeff Strange and his wife, Valerie of Cheshire; Marcy Nedder and her husband, Arthur of Glastonbury; Glenn Strange and his wife, Melissa of Glastonbury and Loryn Strange and her significant other, Bruno Marini of Essex. She also leaves her loving grandchildren, Craig Strange and his Fiancée, Courtney Gagnon; Taylor Strange and her husband, Stephen Carlett; Katie and Mikayla Nedder; Ashley LaFargue and her husband, Steven; Christoper and Michael Strange; and Connor, Emma and Lila Watkinson; and her cherished great granddaughter, Harper LaFargue. Janet was predeceased by her sister, Nancy McKinney and brother-in-law, Russ McKinney.

Friends may greet Janet’s family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410 on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 5PM until 7PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 10AM at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish-St. Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire, friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery, Higgins Road, Cheshire.
