James M. "Jim" Kacey

James M. “Jim” Kacey, age 79, of Cheshire entered into rest on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. He was the devoted husband of Vivian (Clark) Kacey for over 52 years. James was born on November 27, 1941 in Homestead, PA, son of the late John and Margaret (Dolny) Kacey.

Jim served his country with honor and pride with the US Navy. Following the service, he relocated to Cheshire, where he soon met the love of his life, Vivian. Being a trickster with a heart of gold made him difficult for Vivian to resist, and they were married in July of 1968. Jim worked for the USPS locally in Cheshire as a carrier, and was driven to save CT farms, helping the CT Farmland Trust raise a substantial amount of funding throughout the years. He was also a photographer and enjoyed bowling, rooted for the Boston Red Sox and wouldn’t take calls during the UConn Women’s Basketball games. Jim will be remembered as a wonderful husband, the best uncle anyone could have and for making the best pancakes.

In addition to his beloved wife, Vivian of Cheshire, Jim is survived by many loved and cherished nieces and nephews and his godson, Ryan Reed. He was predeceased by his sister Joanne Larson.

A Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath, ME. At the request of his family, memorial contributions may be made to the CT Farmland Trust, 77 Buckingham St., 3rd Floor, Hartford, CT 06106 or by visiting www.ctfarmland.org The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with his arrangements.
