James Anthony Finnegan

James Anthony Finnegan, 78, of Hamden, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at his home. He was the loving husband of Mary Imelda (Cashen) Finnegan.

James was one of ten children born August 16, 1944 in Castleblaney, County Monaghan, Ireland to the late Anthony Finnegan and Bridget (Hand) Finnegan. He came to the United States in 1989 settling in Hamden with his family. James worked as a pipe-layer with Quality Associates in East Haven, retiring in 2014 after many years of service. He liked to stay active and loved the outdoors. James took great pride in his home and enjoyed taking care of the family gardens. He also loved wildlife and found pleasure in feeding the visitors that came upon his yard. 

Besides his wife Mary, he leaves his children, Sarah Finnegan of Hamden, James Patrick Finnegan and his children Xavier and Xiomara of Florida formerly of Hamden and Noreen Finnegan of Hamden.

Funeral services in celebration of James' life will be held Friday September 2, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 South Main Street. Burial will be held privately. For additional information or to leave words of sympathy please visit www.fordfh.com.
