Irene Lawlor

Watertown - Irene Lawlor, 103, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at her home. She was the wife of the late William F. Lawlor Sr.

Mrs. Lawlor was born October 22, 1922, in New Haven, the daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Urban) Loman. She was raised in Naugatuck, Connecticut, graduating from Naugatuck High School, Class of 1940. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Naugatuck and had volunteered for many years at the Naugatuck Ecumenical Food Bank as well as Waterbury Hospital in the Medical Library. She had a lengthy career of 52 years as an Executive Assistant in Uniroyal Footwear Division. She retired from Uniroyal at the age of eighty.

Mrs. Lawlor is survived by her children Catherine Strona, Elaine Chadderton and William Lawlor, Jr. (Chicago, Illinois). Irene was pre-deceased by her youngest daughter Donna Dryburgh.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Patrick Lawlor, Daniel Dryburgh, Shane Dryburgh, and Caitlyn Strona. Irene was pre-deceased by her granddaughter Alissa Lawlor.

Arrangements – The Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements. There are no calling hours, and burial will be at St. James Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ecumenical Food Bank of Naugatuck and Beacon Falls, PO Box 796, Naugatuck, CT 06770.
